Summer Lake

Summer Lake (Skagit County) is a small lake southeast of Mt. Vernon, located between Big Lake and Lake Cavanaugh. The 6 acre lake is more of a sphagnum bog than a true lake, and contains a variety interesting of wildflowers and plants. Cranberries and two species of carnivorous plants grow in the sphagnum moss that floats over the bog. Walking on the floating moss can be dangerous and causes damage to the fragile plants, so please stay on the board walk that is provided.
